Storyboard feedback

After creating my story board that follows the plan that I want to take for my own trailer, I decided to get feedback from my target audience in order to know early on if this is the kind of content that they would want to see. For my feedback, I asked the target audience questions relating to the plot.

  1.  From the storyboard, does the film look like something you would watch? The majority of those I asked from the group said that they would watch the film and as the individuals I asked were all a part of my target audience which made it more clearly for them to answer yes.
  2. If not, why? N/A.
  3. Do you think the storyline of the film is cliche? Yes, as certain events in the film are mirroring previously seen films. It was also mentioned that despite it being cliche, the story line still remains relatable for the audience.
  4. Are there any improvements you would make to the plot? Yes, to include current situations e.g. by not having an argument with her mother but perhaps having a mental disorder instead to prevent her from staying at university. It was debatable on whether it was current or not by the group as some argued it was and others did not, however those who did not agree suggested this idea which I shall consider to use as I thought it was unique and nothing I had considered.
  5. What intrigues you to watch the film? The different scenes engaged the audience with the various different locations and events that the character encounters. As well as the aesthetic which was seen to be very intriguing and appealing due to the fact that it's relevant to their current life.
Overall, the feedback I received has helped me develop the plot of my film further and to make it more relatable towards the audience. Without having started filming, I was able to gain more insight into what the audience wanted to see to ensure that in the future the footage I was producing was what was expected. Furthermore, I hope to gain more feedback throughout the various other drafts of my trailer, poster and magazine in order to steer me into the right direction.
